Under the Nile is a truly unique company as they produce beautiful organic products in Fair Trade conditions and thus fit perfectly with the ibuTrade ethos. Under the Nile uses Demeter certified organic Eqyptian cotton. Their organic cotton is grown in Egypt where the most durable and softest cotton is grown, and it is then manufactured according to the highest environmental standards.

Their farm is located in the Nile Delta, where they have established a community based on healthy living for both the workers and the environment. On the premises, they have a schoolhouse for the workers' children, a hospital, vocational learning centre, an Academy of Applied Arts and a cafeteria that serves organic meals. Under the Nile practices fairness towards all people involved in the production chain. A fair price is paid to the cotton growers and a just wage to all Under the Nile workers. They also specifically design their work spaces to incorporate space, light and air.

Under the Nile also takes every caution to ensure that the environment stays clean of toxins, from the time the ground is prepared for the cottonseed, to the spinning and weaving of the cotton into yarn. Every detail for Under the Nile's production is attended to. This includes 100% cotton thread for sewing, metal parts free of nickel, cotton neck labels on all clothing.
