These gorgeous 100% alpaca fairly traded scarves are hand knitted by women in Pitumarca village high in the Andes and are available in a range of colours. Ethica run a scheme in Pitumarca that involves over one hundred women and gives them a means of earning an income by using their skills, which contributes to their self-development and confidence. All Ethica products are fairly traded. The knitters are provided with the beautiful alpaca wool free of charge for them to take home and knit in their free time whilst they care for their children and when they bring their completed scarf to the Pitumarca village workshop they are paid cash in hand directly - so no middle man!
