Piltati - Two Sisters Dreaming
The design for this cushion comes from an original painting. The story is of women who are meeting in different places talking about a lot of different things.
Minyma tjuta tjunguringkaupai, muna tjana wankapai, kutjupa kutjupa tjuta.
Talking about a lot of different things.
Tjukula tjuta ngarinyi. Lots of rockholes irititja minima tjuta tjunguringu munu tjana wankara kulipai.
Long time ago many women, they talked and listened to each other.
Now we go out and clean up the rockholes – build fences to keep out the wild horses and camels. Take away the weeds and rubbish.
These texturally exquisite cushion covers are created through Better World Arts Cross Cultural Projects chain-stitched by skilled Kashmiri artisans with the highest quality Kashmiri wool.
