These texturally exquisite cushion covers are created through Better World Arts Cross Cultural Projects. This cushion was designed by Sylvia Ken of Tjala Arts in the Anangu/Pitjantjatjara/Yankunytjatjara lands in central Australia and chain-stitched by skilled Kashmiri artisans with the highest quality Kashmiri wool. The Cross Cultural Projects give substantial benefits to all the participants in the production process. The results truly have to be seen and touched to be believed.

This piece is titled Kapi Wala and depicts the springs in the ground or rocks where water seeps through. Water is an essential element in the desert. Knowledge of where water can be found is passed on from generation to generation and is revered by all Anangu Pitjantjatjara (Pitjantjatjara people).
