Robin Kankapankatja Woollen Cushion Cover

Robin Kankapankatja Woollen Cushion Cover

$68.00

These texturally exquisite cushion covers are created through Better World Arts Cross Cultural Projects. This cushion was designed by Robin Kankapankatja  of Kaljiti Arts in the Anangu/Pitjantjatjara/Yankunytjatjara lands in central Australia and chain-stitched by skilled Kashmiri artisans with the highest quality Kashmiri wool. The Cross Cultural Projects give substantial benefits to all the participants in the production process. The results truly have to be seen and touched to be believed.

Walakara

Robin Kankapankatja started painting in July 2004 and this image is taken from an original acrylic on canvas painting of his country. His theme is always his traditional country, Walakara.
In his naïve, fresh style, he tells the story of his close connection with his country. An expert tracker, this intimate knowledge of the animals and plants is evident from the way he depicts the images of the trees, animal tracks and landmarks such as creeks and hills as he knows them.

The price quoted here includes GST and free delivery within Australia.
