This naturally beautiful necklace was crafted from match box seeds and the aptly named red beads by artist Dorothy Mirniyowan of Anindilyakwa Art.

Anindilyakwa Art was established in 2005 by the Anindilyakwa Land Council to help local artists promote and sell their artwork. Groote Eylandt is a small island in the Gulf of Carpentaria and is an aboriginal reserve. Until the opening of the Art Centre the local artists were very limited in outlets for art sales, usually selling to the local mining community.
